Peoples of the North Saskatchewan cancelled

Peoples of the North Saskatchewan, a popular event in Fort Saskatchewan, was cancelled on the morning of the event.

The cancellation was announced on the Fort Saskatchewan Historical Society Facebook page earlier today, with the event being cancelled due to the weather.

“We do not want the school children to not get the most out of our event nor do we want our volunteers to get ill,” the society wrote in their Facebook comment. “It was not an easy call to make as our volunteers had invested a few hundred hours in this.”

Some residents voiced their dissapointment in the comments, while others defended the societies decision.

Peoples of the North Saskatchewan is a free annual event which showcases the history of Fort Saskatchewan, with a huge variety of demonstrations and activities. The event was intended to bring in over 500 people.

In a comment made to the initial Facebook post, the society confirmed that the event will not be rescheduled.
