Bomb threat at Sherwood Park high school a hoax: RCMP

Strathcona County RCMP have determined that the bomb threat made to Bev Facey High School in Sherwood Park on Monday was a hoax.

Police have identified the individual involved in the hoax, a 17-year-old male from Michigan.  The hoaxer has no connection to the school or community, making the incident appear to be random, according to police.

On Monday around 1pm, school administration received a phone call where a male stated, “I have a bomb,” and hung up. The male caller did not provide any additional information. The school immediately went into a hold and secure and called the police to attend.  The officers who attended the scene did not locate anything suspicious.
