Fatal motorcycle collision in southwest Edmonton

There has been another fatality involving a motorcycle, this time at the south edge of Edmonton Thursday evening.

EPS say that a male motorcyclist was travelling eastbound on 41 Avenue SW turning onto northbound James Mowatt Trail. The motorcyclist accelerated his 2024 Kawasaki EX650 P motorcycle, which struck a curb on the east side of the roadway causing the rider to lose control.

The 27-year-old motorcyclist was pronounced deceased on scene by EMS. Major Collision Investigation Section (MCIS) is investigating.

It does not appear that speed was a factor in this collision.
