Gibbons resident victim of fatal motorcycle collision

A 60-year-old resident of Gibbons has died after his motorcycle collided with another vehicle at the intersection of Highways 37 and 825 east of Fort Saskatchewan Wednesday evening.

Fort Saskatchewan RCMP say the motorcycle and another vehicle collided at the intersection, causing life-threatening injuries to the motorcyclist.  STARS air ambulance transported the man to hospital, but he died en-route.  The driver of the other vehicle was treated by EMS at the scene for minor injuries.

The collision and subsequent investigation caused the intersection to be closed until after midnight Thursday.  The investigation is ongoing.
