Russian propaganda campaigns circling around X

Canadian security officials are issuing warnings about a Russian propaganda campaign disseminating online misinformation on X, formerly known as Twitter, utilizing artificial intelligence.

According to the Canadian Centre for Cyber Security, individuals linked to Russia Today are operating a bot farm aligned with the Russian government. These automated social media accounts are designed to spread false information, often posing as Americans and promoting pro-Russian government messages.

Efforts by Canada, the US, and the Netherlands have been underway to disrupt these campaigns. However, officials caution that similar activities may surface on comparable platforms.
