Attack of the heat wave

We will hit a high of 27° at 2 PM. It will start to get a little less warm (not by much at all) around 7 PM

Environment Canada has issued heat warnings for nearly all of Alberta, with the exception of the Jasper area, citing potentially hazardous conditions. The high temperatures have strained generator capabilities, prompting the Alberta Electric System Operator to issue a grid alert.

Residents are advised to limit non-essential use of lights and appliances and to reduce air conditioning usage, especially during peak hours from 4 PM to 7 PM, in efforts to stabilize the electricity grid.

Temperatures are set to moderate for most of Alberta on Friday .

Current temperatures as of 10 AM today are as follows;

  • Fort Saskatchewan 25° Clear
  • Edmonton 24° Clear
  • St. Albert 24° Clear
  • Sherwood Park 25° Clear

Fri, July 12– 26° and mainly sunny.

Sat, July 13– 24°with a risk of thunderstorms.

Sun, July 14– 26° with a risk of thunderstorms

Mon, July 15– 28° with a risk of thunderstorms

Tues, July 16– 29° and mainly sunny

Wed, July 17– 30° and mainly sunny

Thurs, July 18– 30° and mainly sunny
