Hiker found dead in Canyon Lands National Park after getting lost and running out of water

Albino Herrera Espinoza and his daughter, Beatriz Herrera, both from Wisconsin, were found deceased in Canyonlands National Park on Friday evening. The pair had reportedly become lost and ran out of water during a hike amidst extreme heat conditions.

The bodies of Albino Herrera Espinoza and Beatriz Herrera were discovered approximately 15 minutes apart around 6 PM local time. Authorities have not disclosed the duration of their ordeal nor how long it took to locate them.

The tragic discovery comes amid a scorching summer across the United States, where historic heatwaves have already claimed the lives of over three dozen individuals in July alone.
