The man accused in a shooting at Edmonton City Hall in January has pleaded not guilty.
Bezhani Sarvar, the accused in the January shooting at Edmonton’s City Hall, has pleaded not guilty to charges that include two terrorist offenses along with nine provincial charges related to the incident.
The shooting occurred in late January when gunfire erupted multiple times within City Hall, accompanied by the throwing of a Molotov cocktail from the second floor, resulting in a small fire.
Sarvar’s case will proceed to trial by jury in the Court of Queen’s Bench, with the next court appearance scheduled for August 1st for a preliminary hearing.
Since the incident, Sarvar has remained in custody.
