EPS ask for public help identifying shooting suspect

Edmonton police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a man suspected in a shooting that occurred Monday night. Officers responded to a report of a shooting in the area of 74th St and 118th Ave, where two men were involved in a fight.

According to police, one of the men produced a BB gun and shot the other man in the face before fleeing the scene. The injured individual was transported to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

In a statement, the EPS described the suspect as male, in his mid-20s, with long black hair and a beard. He was seen wearing a red colour long-sleeved shirt, black hat, a sleeveless denim vest with logos on it, black pants and shoes with only white laces in one of the shoes.

EPS Northeast Branch Const. James Henderson said, “While the weapon was determined to be an imitation firearm, it still resulted in serious injuries and had the potential to impact innocent bystanders. We are encouraging anyone with information about the suspect’s identity to contact police.”

Anyone with information about the incident or the suspect is urged to contact Edmonton police.
