Fire at C2 Recycling Centre sent black smoke into the Edmonton air

A fire at the C2 Recycling Centre in East Edmonton yesterday afternoon caused dense black smoke to billow into the sky. The blaze, which began around 1:20 p.m., remained active as of 3:00 p.m. No further updates have been provided since then.

Drivers are being advised to avoid the area around 68th Ave between 43A Street and 50th St as emergency crews work to contain the fire. The cause of the blaze has yet to be determined.
