Jasper tours postponed in respect of fallen Albertan firefighter

Tours to Jasper National Park have been postponed out of respect for the wildland firefighter who tragically lost his life on Saturday while battling fires in the region.

According to an RCMP news release, a 24-year-old man from Calgary was fatally injured by a falling tree while fighting the blaze. Despite immediate extraction from the scene, he was later declared dead.

Tours were suspended until yesterday to honour the firefighter. Officials have since worked to reschedule the tours, emphasizing that the resumption is contingent upon the safety conditions related to the ongoing fires.

Currently, 120 families are registered for the tours, which will proceed only if conditions remain safe. For the latest updates, visitors are advised to check with local officials and tour operators.
