Edmonton police have laid multiple charges against the owners of a convenience store following a major investigation into alleged illegal activities.
The investigation, conducted in collaboration with the Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Commission (AGLC), targeted a store located at 96th Street and 106th Avenue. On July 19, police executed a search warrant at the premises, uncovering a significant cache of illicit items.
Authorities reported seizing:
- $200,000 in cash
- 28,000 illegal cigarettes, with an estimated tax avoidance value of over $8,500
- A variety of weapons, including expandable batons and a large machete
- Controlled substances, including fentanyl, crystal meth, and cocaine, with a combined street value of approximately $35,000
Three individuals in their 20’s have been charged with offenses including tobacco trafficking, fraud over $5,000, and possession for the purpose of trafficking weapons.
The Edmonton Police Service continues to investigate the case, and further details are expected to be released as the situation develops.
