2 arrested in connection with terrorism plot against Taylor Swift concerts in Vienna

Two young individuals were arrested yesterday in connection with alleged plans to attack Taylor Swift concerts scheduled in Vienna.

Authorities discovered bomb-making materials and chemicals during a search of one of the suspects’ homes today. One of the individuals has reportedly confessed to planning to “kill as many people as possible outside the concert venue”.

Austrian officials believe the suspects were inspired by extremist groups such as the Islamic State and Al-Qaeda.

The concerts were canceled yesterday after organizers learned of the planned attack.

A 19-year-old suspect had previously uploaded a pledge of allegiance to the current leader of the Islamic State group on social media just a few weeks ago.

Authorities continue to investigate the case and enhance security measures.
