Costco implements membership scanners at entrances

Costco Wholesale has announced a new policy to enhance store security and streamline member access by introducing membership scanners at the entrance of each location.

Currently, members only need to show their membership card to a staff member or simply mention that a family member is inside. Under the new policy, employees will be required to ask for a photo ID in addition to the membership card.

Every member using a shopping cart to take their purchases out to their vehicle is obligated to return it to the enclosures. This will prevent the carts from becoming obstacles, in the already overcrowded parking lots. If you didn’t put them back already, there is a special place for you called donkey-hole land. I mean you spent an hour walking around the store, just walk a bit more to put it back where you found it. Oh also, put away the trash in your cart, it takes 10 seconds and you wont look like a gross person to everyone else! Its a win, win.

Guests must now be accompanied by a member, even if visiting just the food court for Costco’s popular $1.50 hot dogs.

Social media pages dedicated to Costco have reported that these scanners have already been installed in several stores across British Columbia, Ontario, and Alberta.
