Canada’s Men’s 4x100m Relay Team Stuns with Gold in Paris

Aaron Brown knew something that many others didn’t: Canada’s men’s 4×100-metre relay team was far from finished. Despite entering Friday’s final with the slowest qualifying time and grappling with injuries, the Canadians shocked the world with a gold-medal performance at Stade de France.

Running from Lane 9, the Canadian quartet delivered a blistering final leg, with Andre De Grasse sprinting to victory in a time of 37.50 seconds. De Grasse, who had been dealing with a hamstring injury, had openly admitted that his acceleration was off during the prelims. Yet, Brown, ever the optimist, kept the faith.

“I tried to warn them, they didn’t believe me,” Brown said post-race. “This is exactly like the 2022 World Championships in Eugene [Oregon]. I knew we’d come together and deliver.”

Indeed, the Canadians overcame all odds. Their performance was a dramatic turnaround from their qualifying rounds and showcased a perfect blend of speed, precision, and teamwork. The gold medal is a testament to their resilience and unity, turning potential setbacks into a historic victory.

The triumph was not just a personal win for the athletes but also a moment of national pride for Canada, underlining their dominance in track and field despite earlier doubts. This victory in Paris adds a sparkling chapter to the Canadians’ storied legacy on the global stage.
