Canadian Food Inspection Agency issues a recall for coconut products due to Salmonella contamination

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has issued a recall for Hải Yến Ocean Swallow frozen shredded coconut due to potential Salmonella contamination. The product, sold in 400-gram packages, is distributed in Alberta, British Columbia, and Manitoba.

The affected products have a best before date of October 1, 2025. No illnesses have been reported in connection with this product at this time.

Salmonella contamination may not affect the appearance or smell of the food but can still cause illness. Symptoms of Salmonella infection include vomiting, fever, muscle aches, severe headaches, and neck stiffness.

The recalled product features the Universal Product Code 8115170091856. Consumers are advised to check their products and discard any that match this description.
