Tragedy struck the QE II Highway on August 7, when a high-speed motorcycle collision resulted in the death of a 34-year-old Leduc man. The incident occurred at approximately 7:00 pm on the northbound stretch of the highway near the off ramp leading to 41 Avenue in Edmonton.
According to initial reports from the Leduc RCMP, the motorcycle was traveling at an excessive speed when it exited the 41 Avenue off ramp. The driver, whose identity has not yet been released, lost control of the bike and crashed into the guard rail.
