Hiker found dead in central Alberta after a 3-day search

A hiker was found dead following a three-day search in central Alberta. RCMP reported that on Sunday, they were notified that the 55-year-old hiker was overdue from a trek in the Nordegg backcountry. His vehicle was subsequently located at the Coral Creek staging area.\

Search-and-rescue teams, along with volunteers and helicopters, began the search on Monday. Yesterday, the hiker’s body was discovered 12 kilometers from his vehicle. Police have determined that the cause of death was a hiking accident.
