Elks secure their second win of the season

The Edmonton Elks claimed their second win of the season with a 33-16 victory over the BC Lions during a home game on Sunday. Boris Bede played a pivotal role in the win, kicking three field goals to help secure the triumph.

This home win, the Elks’ first of the season, improves their record to 2-7. In contrast, the BC Lions have experienced a slump, suffering their third consecutive loss, which leaves them with a 5-4 record.

Elks’ quarterback Jarious Jackson noted the significant impact the win had on the team. Although Jackson was not present in the locker room post-game, he reported that the atmosphere was electric, with players celebrating enthusiastically.

The victory also provides some redemption for the Elks, who had previously lost to the Lions 24-21 in Week 4 of the season.

Looking ahead, the Elks will travel to Hamilton to face the Tiger-Cats next Saturday.
