Strathcona RCMP seize drugs after a traffic stop

Strathcona RCMP have seized a significant amount of drugs, weapons, and cash following a traffic stop on Emerald Drive.

On August 8th, at around 10:45 p.m., RCMP conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle. During the stop, an officer observed contraband cigarettes inside of the vehicle. The driver was arrested, and a subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered methamphetamine, cocaine, a hidden blade, and a substantial amount of Canadian currency.

Shannon Mark Kelly, a resident of Sherwood Park, is facing multiple charges, including possession for the purpose of trafficking, two counts of possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes, possession of a concealed weapon, and possession of unstamped tobacco.

Kelly has been released on the condition that he appear in court on August 28th.
