EPS searching for suspect vehicle connected to a shooting last year

Edmonton Police are searching for a suspect vehicle connected to the fatal daylight shooting of a father and his son outside a fast-food restaurant last year.

On November 9, 2023, Harpreet Uppal, 41, and his 11-year-old son Gavin were shot and killed while parked outside an A&W located at Ellerslie Road and 50 Street.

Homicide detectives with the Edmonton Police Service are now looking for a green 2005-2007 Nissan X-Trail. The vehicle has distinctive damage on the passenger side, including a horizontal dent along the rear bumper and a rust spot over the rear passenger tire.

Police believe the suspects were in this X-Trail shortly after the shooting and are confident the vehicle may still contain valuable evidence related to the case.

Anyone with information on the vehicle or its whereabouts is urged to contact Edmonton Police.
