In a significant development related to the death of actor Matthew Perry, five individuals, including Perry’s assistant and two doctors, have been charged in connection with the case. The U.S. Attorney announced the charges earlier today, detailing the allegations surrounding Perry’s death from an overdose in October.
According to the announcement, two doctors are accused of supplying Perry with substantial amounts of ketamine, a powerful anesthetic often misused recreationally. It is alleged that the doctors communicated via text messages to discuss how much Perry was willing to pay for the drug.
Perry’s assistant, who has also been charged, is alleged to have administered multiple injections of ketamine to Perry on the day of his death. This assistant subsequently discovered Perry’s body later that day.
The charges against the individuals include several counts of drug distribution and falsifying records. Dr. Salvador Plasencia, one of the doctors implicated, faces seven counts of ketamine distribution and two charges related to allegations of falsifying records following Perry’s death.
Of the five charged, two individuals have already been arrested, while three others, including Perry’s assistant, have pleaded guilty to the charges.
Another person was arrested on Thursday, Jasveen Sangha, who prosecutors described as a drug dealer known as the “ketamine queen.” The ketamine supplied by her was the cost of Perry’s death
