B.C. United to merge with conservatives for the provincial election in October

B.C. United is suspending its campaign and joining forces with the B.C. Conservatives in a strategic move ahead of the October 19th provincial election.

B.C. United campaign manager Mark Werner confirmed that Kevin Falcon will step down as party leader. The two parties will consolidate their campaign efforts in a bid to strengthen their position in the upcoming election.

A recent Main Street Research survey shows the B.C. Conservatives leading in voter support with 36 percent, compared to 33 percent for the governing B.C. NDP.

It remains unclear how many B.C. United candidates will run under the Conservative banner in the election. Further details on the merger and campaign strategy are expected to be released soon.
