Candle light vigil for suicide awareness

The Fort Saskatchewan community will come together on September 10th for a candlelight vigil aimed at raising awareness for suicide prevention and mental health. The event will take place from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Legacy Park.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs for the occasion, which will include a candle distribution ceremony. Participants can visit a designated table in front of the stage to leave the name of a loved one and receive a candle in their memory.

This vigil seeks to honor those who have been lost to suicide and to support survivors, while also working to break the stigma surrounding mental health issues.

For those in need of additional support, a weekly support group meets every Thursday from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Pioneer House, and all are welcome to attend.
