Charges Laid in Fatal Stabbing at Edmonton Corn Maze

The Alberta RCMP has charged a 41-year-old man in connection with a fatal stabbing that occurred on Tuesday at the Edmonton Corn Maze, located near Spruce Grove. The victim has been identified as 53-year-old Joseph Farnsworth.

Michael George Ferzli, the accused, has been charged with second-degree murder. Following his arrest, Ferzli was brought before a justice of the peace and has been remanded. His next court appearance is scheduled for September 4 at the Alberta Court of Justice in Stony Plain.

The incident took place around 7:00 pm on Tuesday when Parkland RCMP received a report of a stabbing at the popular attraction on Highway 627. Upon arriving at the scene, officers found Farnsworth deceased. Ferzli, who remained at the scene, was taken into custody without incident.

Authorities have confirmed that the attack involved two individuals who were known to each other. Police are now seeking information from anyone who was at the Corn Maze between 5 pm and 7 pm on the day of the incident.
