Alberta’s Heritage Day: Fort Saskatchewan

Alberta’s Heritage Day is this Saturday, and Fort Saskatchewan is the place to be! Head over to the Fort Heritage Precinct from noon to 4 p.m. for a day filled with fun, entertainment, and activities.

The event will feature a variety of performers, history-based activities, free hot dogs and drinks, local Indigenous vendors, and much more.

In addition to the festivities at the Fort Heritage Precinct, the City of Fort Saskatchewan has planned a range of activities across its cultural and recreational facilities. Enjoy free access to all these venues throughout the day.

Event activities

  • Indigenous Programming and Facilitators: Engage with and learn from local Indigenous culture.
  • Entertainment: A diverse lineup of performers include:
    • Jeff Ramsey – Vocal performance: 12:30 pm
    • Indigenous Dancers: 1:30 pm
    • Daniel Gervais – Fiddling and Singing performance: 2:15 pm
    • Indigenous Drummers: 3:45 pm
  • History-Based Activities: Dive into Alberta’s rich history with interactive sessions.
  • Hot Dogs and Beverages: Enjoy complimentary refreshments.
  • Vendor Alley: Support local Indigenous businesses as you make your way to Fort Heritage Precinct.
  • Pop-Up Play Activities: Have fun at the Natural Playground with spontaneous play sessions.
