Shooting in St. Albert leaves teen in hospital

A 17-year-old boy is recovering in hospital after being shot early yesterday morning in St. Albert. St. Albert RCMP report that two other teenagers, a 16-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy, were also taken to hospital with minor injuries. All three were in a vehicle at the time of the incident.

Police believe the shooting occurred on Grovesner Boulevard following a brief confrontation with a white van with tinted windows. The van reportedly followed the teenagers’ vehicle to the intersection of Levasseur Road and Grandin Road. Shots were fired from the van before it fled the scene.

The investigation is ongoing, and RCMP are seeking information from the public to help identify those responsible.
