2 dead after a crash in Peace River airport

Authorities say two people are dead following a small plane crash at an airport in northern Alberta.

RCMP have identified the victims as a 30-year-old resident of Manning, Alberta, and a 27-year-old Australian man. The crash occurred at Peace River Airport around 8 p.m. yesterday.

Both individuals were pronounced dead at the scene. Police believe they were the only occupants of the aircraft.

The Transportation Safety Board of Canada is investigating the incident.
