EPS warn Lexus drivers of thefts throughout the city

Edmonton Police Services is warning Lexus owners about a surge in vehicle thefts across the city.

In a post on X, the police department’s Targeted Response Auto Theft Prevention Team revealed that thefts of various Lexus models are under investigation.

Thieves are primarily targeting 2018-2022 Lexus RX350 and RX450 models, as well as newer LX and GX models. The thefts have been occurring in open parking lots at all times of day, with perpetrators disabling the factory GPS tracking systems.

Police advise Lexus drivers to park in secure locations, such as garages, or in well-lit, high-traffic areas to reduce the risk of theft.
