Edmonton Police investigate suspicious death in a downtown parkade

The Edmonton Police Service’s homicide unit is investigating the suspicious death of a man found in a downtown parkade yesterday afternoon.

Patrol officers responded to a weapons complaint in the parkade located at 101 Street and 102 Avenue around 12:15 p.m. According to a statement from EPS, the officers discovered a man with significant injuries. Despite EMS treatment, the man was declared deceased at the scene.

A suspect was taken into custody shortly after the incident, though police have not disclosed whether any charges are pending. An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday.
