The River Cree Resort and Casino is set to undergo a major expansion, adding a new 18-storey hotel tower, a pool with waterslides, additional conference rooms, and enhanced dining options. The project, announced at a ceremony on Friday, represents a $200 million investment in the facility, which was originally built 20 years ago.
The expansion will introduce 230 new hotel rooms, including over 30 luxury suites. The new amenities will feature a pool area with two waterslides and a large hot tub, as well as more than 40,000 square feet of event space.
In addition to the expanded event facilities, the River Cree Resort will add a new banquet kitchen to accommodate the increased event capacity. Guests can also look forward to a new full-service restaurant and bar, alongside additional dining outlets, with specific details to be confirmed in the coming months.
Enoch Cree Nation Chief and Council have confirmed that the expansion will be entirely self-funded, without relying on financial support from the provincial or federal governments.
