Fort Saskatchewan Population Reaches New High in 2024 Census

The City of Fort Saskatchewan has recorded a population of 29,857 in its 2024 Municipal Census, marking a 4.31% increase from the previous year. As of April 1, 2024, the city’s steady growth continues, fueled by ongoing development and community appeal.

The census data plays a crucial role in guiding the City’s infrastructure planning, ensuring residents receive appropriate services and funding. With population figures directly impacting the allocation of resources for schools, recreational facilities, and essential services, city planners can make informed decisions about future developments.

Mayor Gale Katchur highlighted the importance of the milestone, stating, “This growing population shows that Fort Saskatchewan is a place where people want to put down roots, and it reinforces our commitment to planning for a vibrant and sustainable future for everyone.”
