2024 census results for Strathcona County out now

The 2024 municipal census results reveal that Strathcona County’s population has reached 103,829 residents. The census data shows a 3.5 percent increase in the population within urban areas (75,575 residents) and a 3.3 percent rise in rural areas (28,253 residents).

This year’s census included new questions to gather information on the prevalence and types of disabilities in the community, as well as the most common primary languages spoken at home. Additionally, data was collected on dwelling statistics, length of residency, number of registered vehicles, and more.

This is the second census conducted using paperless collection methods via mobile tablets. Residents had the option to complete the census online or through a phone-in service.
