Drunk driving suspected on Anthony Henday Drive crash

Charges are pending against a driver following a wrong-way collision on the Anthony Henday Drive early Saturday morning.

The crash occurred around 4:30 a.m. in the westbound lanes between Calgary Trail and 111 Street, involving an eastbound Volkswagen Jetta and a westbound Acura TLX.

Both the driver of the Volkswagen and all three occupants of the Acura were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities believe alcohol may have been a contributing factor in the incident. The ring road was closed for several hours to facilitate the emergency response and investigation, reopening around 10
