Motorcyclist killed in Groat Road collision

A 21-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a collision on Groat Road yesterday afternoon, with police believing speed was a contributing factor.

According to the Edmonton Police Service, the man was riding north on Groat Road when he struck a center median, propelling him into the path of a southbound truck. The incident occurred between Stony Plain Road and 102 Avenue around 3:15 p.m.

The motorcyclist was transported to hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The EPS Major Collision Investigation Section (MCIS) is currently investigating the incident.
