Strathcona County RCMP investigating incident involving a female youth

Strathcona County RCMP are seeking public assistance to identify a male involved in an incident with a female youth.

On September 25 at approximately 12:30 p.m., an unknown male approached a female youth walking on Cedar Street in Sherwood Park. The man grabbed the youth, but she was able to pull away and flee the area.

The youth contacted her parents and reported the incident to the RCMP. Fortunately, she did not sustain any physical injuries.

The suspect is described as being approximately 18 to 19 years old, standing between 5’9” and 6 feet tall, with a slim build and choppy brown hair. He was wearing a grey hoodie with the hood up, possibly featuring black writing on the arm, sunglasses, and black sweatpants.

Police are asking anyone with video surveillance or doorbell cameras in the vicinity of Fir Street and Cedar Street between 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to contact them. The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
