Police shut down drug lab in northern Alberta

The Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team (ALERT) has confirmed that one person is in custody following the shutdown of a suspected drug lab outside Valleyview.

On Tuesday, ALERT executed a search warrant at a property in the area as part of an ongoing investigation into alleged drug manufacturing. The search is expected to continue for several days, with the RCMP also involved in dismantling the operation.

Authorities have identified the lab as a significant fentanyl operation and are actively working to mitigate the associated risks.

As of now, no charges have been laid against the individual taken into custody. Further updates are anticipated as the investigation progresses.
