Craig MacTavish to play with other Oilers alumni against Canucks alumni in Fort McMurray for charity

Former Edmonton Oilers player Craig MacTavish will return to the ice for a charity game against the Canucks Alumni tomorrow.

The match, along with today’s meet-and-greet event, has been organized by the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation and the Alberta Junior Hockey League’s Fort McMurray Oil Barons in support of the Every Kid Deserves a Shot initiative, which aims to eliminate barriers to youth sports.

MacTavish played for the Oilers from 1985 to 1994. He later served as head coach for eight seasons, starting in 2000-01, and held the position of general manager from 2013 to 2015.

More players, including local celebrities from Fort McMurray, will be announced in the lead-up to the game.

Tickets are still available for purchase, starting at $27.50.
