Fort Saskatchewan RCMP respond to a semi vs train collision in Lamont

A crash in Lamont earlier today has been causing traffic disruptions.

Emergency crews were called to a train crossing located two kilometres northwest of Lamont, just north of Highway 15, at around 11 a.m.

RCMP report that a semi-truck attempted to cross the tracks and was struck by an oncoming train.

No injuries have been reported. The semi sustained minor damage and initially left the scene but returned shortly thereafter.

Police confirmed that the train was not carrying any dangerous goods. However, the collision has blocked intersections at Highway 29, Range Road 195, and Range Road 201.

As of 3:19 PM, the train has been moved and all intersections are now open
