Fisher-Price baby swings recalled in Canada due to suffocation hazards

Several models of Fisher-Price baby swings have been recalled in Canada following reports of fatalities linked to these products.

Health Canada is urging consumers to immediately stop using the affected Fisher-Price swings due to suffocation hazards. Mattel has reported five infant fatalities associated with the swings when used for sleep.

Health Canada emphasizes that the swings should not be used for sleep and that no bedding materials should be added.

List of affected products:

Approximately 99,000 of the affected products were sold in Canada, with about 2.1 million sold in the U.S. and an additional 400 in Mexico, all between 2012 and 2022.

Consumers are being asked “to remove the headrest and the body support insert from the seat pad before continuing to use the product.”

“Consumers may contact Mattel to receive a partial refund for the headrest and body support insert,” the health agency said.
