Canada and U.S. designate pro-Palestinian group. Samidoun, as terrorist entity

Canada and the United States have officially listed Samidoun, a pro-Palestinian group, as a terrorist organization.

The U.S. also added Canadian citizen Khaled Barakat, affiliated with the group, to its counter-terrorism list.

Public Safety Minister Dominic LeBlanc stated that, with the group now designated, it is a criminal offence under Canada’s Criminal Code to donate or provide property to Samidoun.

Samidoun, also known as the Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network, is said to have close ties to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), a group already designated as a terrorist entity by Canada.

U.S. officials claim Samidoun is headquartered in Vancouver, operating under the guise of a humanitarian organization while allegedly supporting terrorism against Israel.
