Elks defeat Calgary Stampeders 23-18, one game of regular season left

For the fourth straight season, the Edmonton Elks will miss the CFL playoffs, but they found some late-season motivation by defeating the Calgary Stampeders 23-18 over the weekend.

Eugene Lewis caught a 10-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Tre Ford with just over a minute remaining to secure the win. Lewis also rushed for a touchdown, while backup quarterback Dakota Prukop added another rushing score for the Elks.

The victory marked Edmonton’s third win over Calgary this season, sweeping the season series.

The Elks, now focused on ending their season on a high note, will face the Toronto Argonauts at Commonwealth Stadium on October 25 for their final game of the regular season.
