Police looking for man and woman suspected of stealing jewelry at WEM

Edmonton police are asking for the public’s help in identifying two suspects involved in a theft at a jewellery store in West Edmonton Mall earlier this month.

Police say the incident occurred around 6 p.m. on Oct. 10, when a man and a woman entered the store. It’s believed the woman distracted a store employee while the man went behind the counter to steal merchandise.

Authorities estimate that approximately $115,000 worth of items were taken.

The woman is described as five-foot-four with long dark hair and brown eyes. She was wearing a black long-sleeve shirt, a black vest, a black skirt, and black boots. She was also carrying what appeared to be a Burberry purse.

Police noted that both suspects spoke with what seemed to be Eastern European accents.
