Elks face Toronto Argonauts for their final game of the season

The Edmonton Elks (6-11) are set to close out their season on Friday, Oct. 25, against the Toronto Argonauts (10-7), who will rest several key players with their playoff position already secured.

The Argonauts, locked into second place in the East Division, are sitting several of their top starters, including franchise quarterback Chad Kelly and running back Ka’Deem Carey, the team’s nominee for Most Outstanding Player. Toronto’s decision to rest key players gives Edmonton the opportunity to take on a less seasoned lineup as they look to finish their season on a positive note.

Despite having no bearing on the standings—Edmonton is locked into fourth place in the West Division—the game provides a chance for the Elks to build momentum and evaluate their roster heading into the offseason. Toronto’s backup quarterback, Cameron Dukes, will lead the Argonauts’ offence, which also features several other reserve players filling in for starters.

Kickoff at Commonwealth Stadium is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. MDT.
