B.C RCMP seize cannabis products packaged like regular candy

RCMP in British Columbia have seized tens of thousands of illicit cannabis edibles disguised as brand-name candies in an operation targeting an organized crime group.

Six individuals were arrested after officers raided two Vancouver Island dispensaries — the Green Coast Dispensary in Port Alberni and the Coastal Storm Dispensary in Lantzville. The suspects are alleged to be part of a criminal network producing and distributing cannabis, illicit drugs, and counterfeit tobacco across the province. A storage and production facility linked to the operation was also searched.

An assessment of the seized edibles found dangerously high levels of THC, with some packages labeled as being 100 times more potent than regulated cannabis products. Authorities noted that the edibles were likely cross-contaminated with other drugs and substances found in the facility, posing a significant health risk.
