Bonnyville woman charged with child luring

A 35-year-old woman from Bonnyville is facing multiple charges, including child luring, after Wainwright RCMP responded to a report involving a youth on Saturday.

RCMP say a family member contacted them around 2 p.m., reporting that the youth had been communicating with an unknown woman through a messaging app. The woman allegedly tried to lure the youth and his friends to her hotel room.

Following an investigation, RCMP arrested Janelle Maisie Arnold of Bonnyville. She has been charged with invitation to sexual touching, child luring, and failure to comply with a release order.

Arnold is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 7.
