At least 95 people killed in Spain after heavy rain storms caused flashfloods

Flash floods in Spain have killed at least 95 people as heavy rainstorms from Malaga to Valencia turned streets into rivers, swept away cars, and flooded homes. Emergency services used helicopters and boats to rescue trapped residents. Valencia confirmed 92 deaths, with additional fatalities in Castilla La Mancha and Andalusia.

Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez announced three days of mourning starting tomorrow to support those still searching for loved ones. In some areas, floodwaters have reached three meters.

Over 1,000 soldiers have been deployed, and a crisis committee is coordinating rescue efforts. The situation remains critical, and the death toll may rise as searches continue in hard-to-reach areas.
