Police looking for additional witnesses in the drowning death of 5-year-old girl on Wabamun Lake

Alberta RCMP are continuing their investigation into the October 13 drowning of a five-year-old girl at Moonlight Bay on Wabamun Lake, approximately 65 kilometres west of Edmonton. The incident is now being treated as a suspicious death, with RCMP’s Major Crimes Unit taking charge after it was determined that the boat involved did not capsize.

In a recent news release, RCMP stated that they believe multiple individuals were present on the lake at the time of the incident and are appealing for additional witnesses to come forward. Authorities are particularly interested in speaking with anyone who was at Moonlight Bay between 2 and 3 p.m. on the day in question.
