Strathcona County residents can now report certain types of crimes online using the Alberta RCMP’s Online Crime Reporting (OCR) tool. The tool can be used for:
- Lost items valued under $5,000
- Stolen items valued under $5,000
- Property or vehicle vandalism with repair costs under $5,000
- Theft over $5,000 for oil, telecommunications, or utility companies
- Hate-motivated incidents (non-criminal actions motivated by hate or bias)
The OCR tool cannot be used if there is a suspect or witness, or if the incident involves personal identity items, firearms, or license plates.
