Fort Saskatchewan RCMP arrest youths after flight from police

This past weekend, on Saturday at around 11 P.M, Fort Saskatchewan RCMP received a report of a pick-up truck stunting in the parking lot at West River’s Edge Pavilion. They went to the location and saw the suspect vehicle driving down the walking path near the boat launch.

A traffic stop was attempted but the truck took off at high speeds. Due to public safety, the members did not pursue the vehicle, which they later fund unoccupied a few moments later.

With the use of a Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS), commonly known as a drone, Fort Saskatchewan RCMP were able to find and arrest the three occupants who were all minors.

The driver was charged under the Traffic Safety Act and released to a parent.
